GVF, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1990 and dedicated to inspiring mobility choices for all, hosted its Insights Event. GVF's signature events, such as the Insights Event, provide an opportunity for executive professionals and elected officials to network and hear from prominent speakers and leaders in the transportation industry.

GVF's Insights Event was a celebration of GVF's 35 years of transportation advocacy, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

Casey Moore, Vice-President and Regional Manager, Transportation, at Bowman Consulting and GVF’s Board Vice- President, opened the event and welcomed the sold-out crowd of over 150 transportation partners, supporters, and award recipients.

Casey introduced GVF’s Executive Director, Rob Henry, who detailed insights on the impact of Transportation Demand Management (TDM). TDM is ever evolving, but according to recent data, investing in TDM is one of the highest returns in transportation, including:

  • For every $1 invested in TDM your ROI is $5-$10 in benefits

  • Reducing peak hour traffic by just 3-5% can unlock major travel time savings across a region.

  • Investing in TDM equates to fewer solo trips which equates to lower greenhouse gas emissions. This leads to cleaner air, safer streets and healthier communities.

  • If an employer invests $50,000 in TDM Annually they can save over $200,000 in parking construction, $150,000 in fuel and vehicle savings and $100,000 in regional congestion and emission savings for a total return of $450,000. A 9 to 1 return on investment! (Data compiled from US DOT, TRB, Commuter Connections and VTPI).

Throughout our 35 years, within Southeastern Pennsylvania, GVF has been able to leverage roughly $100 million in TDM projects or programs, which have resulted in over $500 million in enhancements to our region.

In recognition of GVF’s contribution to TDM initiatives in SE PA, Rob announced that GVF was recognized with a citation from the Pennsylvania Senate commending GVF on adherence to the highest standards of service and contribution in a meaningful way toward a better and more productive society.

Rob Henry also presented Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz with GVF’s 2025 Elected Official Leadership Award. Commissioner Moskowitz has been a long-time champion for mobility and transportation initiatives in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to the award, Commissioner Moskowitz was also recognized with a citation from the Pennsylvania Senate.

“Commissioner Marian Moskowitz is an advocate of transportation and a proud supporter of GVF since joining our Board of Directors. Her leadership on advocating for SEPTA and projects within Chester County (and beyond) have been inspiring.  GVF values our relationship with Commissioner Moskowitz and we are grateful for her continued support.  It is our honor to present Commissioner Moskowitz with GVF’s 2025 Elected Leadership Award.” – GVF Executive Director Rob Henry

“I am so honored to receive this award from GVF – thank you very much. Reliable, safe transportation is crucial to the economy and residents of southeastern Pennsylvania and Chester County. Still, we need to be aware of the effects cars and trucks have on our climate and quality of life. That’s why I’m proud to be part of GVF, whose mission is to reduce single-occupancy vehicles in favor of biking, walking, working from home, carpooling, or taking mass transit. If we all work together, we can do great things that improve life today and for future generations.”- Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz

Rob wrapped up his remarks by recognizing GVF’s new partners – A.D. Marble, AECOM, Drive Engineering, Gilmore & Associates, Narberth Borough, Plymouth Township, Sowinski Sullivan Architects, and the Borough of West Conshohocken. As part of GVF’s 35th Anniversary, we are running a new membership campaign to partner with organizations who share our mission.
