UPPER MERION — The Association for Commuter Transportation has presented its annual President’s TDM Champion Award to Rob Henry, executive director of GVF. The award was presented Aug. 4 during the association’s national awards program held during the association’s 35th Annual International Conference.

TDM stands for Transportation Demand Management, a focus of GVF, which advocates for investment in transportation demand management programs and educates employees on the benefits of TDM.

The annual award recognizes a member who has made a “significant impact to the industry and profession and has demonstrated commitment and dedication through leadership on the local and/or national level,” according to a press release announcing the award. The recipient of the award is selected by Connie McGee, president of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT).

“Over the past 19 years, Rob has served and led ACT through some challenging times and currently serves as ACT’s Immediate Past President and chair of the Public Policy Committee,” McGee said in a statement. “A member since 2002, Rob has stepped into leadership roles ever since. He is innovative, a thought leader, and always looking at how to move ACT forward.”

Henry is one of the association’s 81 Transportation Demand Management – Certified Professionals (TDM-CP) in the U.S. He said he is “honored” to have been recognized with the award.

“The TDM Champion award is the highest level of recognition that ACT awards. It has been so rewarding to dedicate over 20 years of my career to TDM. I’ve had the privilege to meet so many amazing colleagues from across the world who are all doing their part to make our world a better place and I remain in awe of what they all do,” he said in a statement.
