King of Prussia - GVF is proud to announce it has received Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Business award by the League of American Bicyclists. GVF, along with 1,366 businesses across the country, received recognition for their efforts towards building a more Bicycle Friendly America.
“When places make it easier for people to choose to bike, they are building safer, stronger, and better-connected communities. The League of American Bicyclists is thrilled when organizations like GVF join us in this movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America. When more people are biking to work or shop, life is better for everyone,” says Executive Director Bill Nesper of the League of American Bicyclists.
GVF improved its recognition this year, increasing to sliver level from bronze. With its Silver Level recognition, GVF will continue to encourage employees to bike to work by providing necessary amenities such as showers, changing rooms, bike storage and bike share program. Through its partnership with Bikesport, located in Trappe, GVF is offering three Cannondale bikes for employees to use to bike to work, utilize during lunch or to run an errand.
Each May, during bike to work month, GVF coordinates its Bike to Work Day, where it partners with Montgomery and Chester County elected officials and businesses in the area to bike together as a group while advocating to improve the environment and quality of life. Last year, GVF employees were able to utilize its new bike share program and ride the bikes.
“We are very proud of our improved recognition to Silver Level Bike Friendly Business. As we advocate for extensions and connections in our trail networks, it is important to offer these amenities to our employees, so they have an opportunity to take advantage of our tremendous trail and improve the environment,” said Rob Henry, Executive Director, GVF.
