GVF, a not-for-profit organization with over 33 years of experience improving transportation equity, climate, and quality of life, hosted its Advocacy Breakfast on March 20th.
Over 100 industry executives attended to hear relevant transportation updates from local and state elected officials.
State updates:
“I appreciate GVF’s ongoing commitment to ensuring strong public and private sector collaboration on our regional transportation and infrastructure projects. It’s a climate issue and a health issue, but it’s also a critically important economic issue,” said House Majority Leader Matt Bradford. “If we want to attract and retain employees, reliable and affordable transportation is a significant factor impacting both job seekers and job creators. Therefore, we must ensure that our roads and bridges are safe and strong, but we must also seek out and invest in climate-friendly travel opportunities. This includes everything from reliable mass transit systems and pedestrian-friendly streetscapes to bike lanes and carpooling incentives. We all benefit from these solutions, and I’m grateful for GVF and their active role in our communities.”
"I applaud GVF's leadership in ensuring our region is planning for people, not cars. Their work on developing the first TDM Ordinance in our region, for part of my district in Lower Merion Township, is just one of the many tools that communities can implement to make themselves a more desirable place to live, work, visit, and do business. This session, I look forward to working with my colleagues and GVF to hold a hearing on TDM ordinances so we can work towards improving the quality of life for all," said State Representative Tim Briggs.
County Updates:
“I want to thank our speakers, sponsors, and attendees for supporting our 2023 Advocacy Breakfast. We have many challenges ahead and we need the ongoing support of our partners and the leadership of elected officials to continue to push our transportation and TDM projects forward,” said Rob Henry, Executive Director, GVF.
