KING OF PRUSSIA, PA: Maureen Farrell, Deputy Executive Director for GVF, was reelected to ACT National’s At-Large Board of Directors for another two-year term (2019-2020). The Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) is an international association for professionals and organizations focused on transportation demand management (TDM) strategies to reduce congestion and advocating for commuter transportation. Some of their members include The Walt Disney Company, Google, and Facebook.

Additionally, Maureen was elected as Chair of ACT National’s Membership Committee. The Committee is charged with recruitment and retention of ACT’s over 1,000 membership, ensuring sustained growth in all sectors of TDM industry.

Maureen previously served as ACT National’s TMA Council Chair for 5 years. The TMA Council was dormant before Maureen reestablished it through development of a strategic plan. This led to more participation in meetings, as well as record attendance at relevant ACT events and TMAs joining ACT National. Maureen also chaired ACT’s International Conference in Anaheim, California, last year, where the event had record attendance and was a sold-out event.

“It is great to have Maureen as the new Chair of ACT’s Membership Committee, as well as being reelected to the Board of Directors. With her experience at GVF and her dedication to ACT, I know she will help the organization continue to grow as the premier organization for TDM professionals,” said Connie McGee, ACT National President and Group Manager, Commute with Enterprise.

“I am very excited, and humbled, to have been reelected to ACT National’s Board of Directors. The Association has grown so much over the last two years with the programs we offer, event attendance and membership. We surpassed our membership goal two years early by adding over 1,000 members in 2018. I'm looking forward to challenging ourselves with our membership goals, as I take on the role of the Membership Committee Chair and continuing to promote ACT as the premier TDM organization,” said Maureen Farrell, Deputy Executive Director, GVF and ACT National Board of Directors.

Maureen has been with GVF since 2008. As Deputy Executive Director, her role includes overseeing GVF staff, business development strategies and coordination of programs, projects, policy, marketing and events. She assists with the overall business strategy and fiscal oversight for GVF and its foundation, Communities in Motion, serving as the Chief Operating Officer.

Maureen has been recognized nationally for her TDM expertise and leadership:

  • TDM Leadership Award – ACT National

  • Emerging Leader in TDM – ACT National

  • 40 under 40 recipient – ACT National
