The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, in conjunction with  the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, the counties of Chester and Montgomery, as well as the adjacent municipalities, is developing two projects to remedy problems related to US 422 in the Schuylkill River crossing area.

These projects are:

• Modernization of the PA 23/US 422 Interchange with the relocation of North Gulph Rd.
• Improvements of the PA 363/US 422 Interchange with new ramps to and from US 422 west of the interchange as well as widening of US 422 from US 202 through the PA 363 Interchange.
