Weekend Travel Restrictions on Route 202 in West Goshen Township, Chester County for Pavement Replacement
King of Prussia – Motorists will face travel restrictions this weekend (Aug. 13-16) when traveling on Route 202 between the Route 3 and Westtown Road interchanges in West Goshen Township, Chester County for ongoing road and ramp construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
From 10 p.m. Friday (Aug. 13) to 5 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 15), northbound and southbound Route 202 will be reduced to one lane between Route 3 and Westtown Road for the replacement of deteriorated concrete pavement.
In addition, the Route 202 South off-ramp to Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) on-ramp to Route 202 South will be closed and detoured from 10 p.m. Friday (Aug. 13) to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 16) for the replacement of deteriorated concrete pavement. Drivers are advised to follow these posted detours:
Route 202 South off-ramp to Route 3 (West Chester Pike): The posted detour will follow Route 202 South to the Westtown Road Exit, where drivers will turn left on Westtown Road and take it to the on-ramp to Route 202 North and then follow Route 202 North to the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) exit. Route 3 (West Chester Pike) on-ramp to Route 202 South: The posted detour will take Route 3 traffic north on Route 202 to the Paoli Pike exit, where drivers then will turn right on Paoli Pike and take it to the on-ramp to Route 202 South. PennDOT advises motorists to allow more time for travel along Route 202 during construction because backups will occur. This work is dependent on the weather.
The road construction on Route 202 is part of PennDOT’s $19,377,081 project to rehabilitate and improve 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street in Chester County. The project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Allan A. Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the federally-funded project, which is scheduled to finish in Dec. 2011.
